Every Kid Needs A Dream
I was teaching in a public school and one day I had my class write down their dream for the future. Sometimes a teacher does a spontaneous activity and it works out great. This was one of those times.
One girl seriously said she wanted to find a cure for cancer. Wow! Another fellow said that he wanted to have the number one business in the nation (in the field that interested him). I loved it! These students had real dreams.
But there was at least one that did not. Her dreams had been hijacked years before because of family issues.
And I see students all the time who cannot dream anymore. Or they refuse to dream anymore. Now we do not claim to be a counseling service but we do have a very small group of students (never more than 15) in a safe, secure environment and a God who specializes in restoring long-dead dreams.
